Corset Care & Storage
To keep your corset looking its best for as long as possible:
-
Putting it on: always fasten the zip or busk before tightening the lacing. Take of the corset only after fully loosening the lacing — otherwise, you may damage the fastening.
-
Wearing: avoid sudden movements and excessive bending, as this may put strain on the seams and boning.
-
Seasoning: wear new corset for min. 14 days, starting off with 2 hours a day and gradually tighten the lacing.
-
Cleaning: do not machine wash or soap! Gently remove any dirt with a damp sponge and a small amount of soap.
-
Storing: after taking the corset off, hang it over a chair or lay it flat with the inside facing up to allow any moisture to evaporate. For everyday storage, keep it in a dry, dark place, preferably in a dedicated storage bag or box..
Every Rememo corset is handmade to order, with the utmost attention to comfort, aesthetics, and durability. I use natural materials, including genuine leather, as well as vegan materials and metal components, which is why it’s important to follow the guidelines for safely wearing and storing these products.
1. Intended Use
The corset is designed as a fashion piece that shapes the silhouette and enhances your style. It is not intended to be worn continuously throughout the day or during intense physical activity. It is recommended to gradually get your body used to wearing a corset, starting with shorter periods of wear.
2. Correct Use
-
The corset should be fastened and laced gradually, while allowing you to breathe comfortably and move freely.
-
Over-tightening may cause discomfort, pressure, or irritation. Avoid extreme tight lacing, unless the product has been specifically designed for this purpose and the user has agreed to it following a consultation.
-
Corsets are not intended for use by minors without supervision.
3. Fabrics and allergies
-
The product is made from dyed genuine leather and dyed polyester and cotton fabrics. It also contains metal components that may contain nickel.
-
People who are prone to contact allergies, ( particularly to nickel, textile dyes or tanning agents used in leather) should use the product with caution.
-
If you experience symptoms such as redness, itching, a rash, or any other skin irritation, you should stop using the corset immediately and contact the doctor.
- The manufacturer is not responsible for allergic reactions caused by individual sensitivity to any of the materials used in the product.
-
Metal components can conduct heat and become cold against the skin, so exposure to extreme temperatures should be avoided.
4. Storage & Care
-
Store the corset loosely in a well-ventilated place, away from moisture.
-
Do not machine wash. If the corset gets dirty, gently clean it with a damp cloth and avoid soaking the leather.
-
Genuine leather products can be treated every few months with a care product specifically designed for genuine leather.
5. In case of any issues
If you notice any concerning changes to the product, such as broken components, tears, or unstable lacing, stop using it and contact me — we’ll find a solution together.
